Classification of Rubber sealing Check Valves

Rubber Sealing Check valves can be classified according to their structure and installation method as follows:

Swing Check Valve: The disc of a swing check valve is disc-shaped and rotates around the rotating shaft of the valve seat channel. Due to the streamlined internal channel of the valve, the flow resistance is smaller than that of a lift check valve. It is suitable for large-diameter occasions with low flow rates and infrequently changing flow, but it is not suitable for pulsating flow, and its sealing performance is not as good as that of lift check valves. Swing check valves are divided into three types: single-disc, double-disc, and multi-disc. These three types are mainly classified according to the valve diameter, aiming to reduce hydraulic impact when the medium stops flowing or flows backward.

Lift Check Valve: A check valve where the disc slides along the vertical center line of the valve body. Lift check valves can only be installed on horizontal pipelines. For high-pressure, small-diameter check valves, the disc can be a ball. The shape of the lift check valve body is the same as that of a globe valve (and can be used interchangeably with a globe valve), so its flow resistance coefficient is relatively large. Its structure is similar to that of a globe valve, with the valve body and disc being the same as those of a globe valve. A guide sleeve is machined on the upper part of the disc and the lower part of the valve cover, and the disc guide sleeve can freely lift in the valve cover guide sleeve. When the medium flows forward, the disc is opened by the medium’s thrust; when the medium stops flowing, the disc falls on the valve seat by its own weight to prevent the medium from flowing backward. In the straight-through lift check valve, the direction of the medium inlet and outlet channels is perpendicular to the direction of the valve seat channel; in the vertical lift check valve, the direction of the medium inlet and outlet channels is the same as that of the valve seat channel, and its flow resistance is smaller than that of the straight-through type.

Disc Check Valve: A check valve where the disc rotates around a pin in the valve seat. The disc check valve has a simple structure, can only be installed on horizontal pipelines, and has poor sealing performance.

In-Line Check Valve: A valve where the disc slides along the center line of the valve body. The in-line check valve is a newly developed valve. It is small in size, light in weight, and has good manufacturability, making it one of the development directions of check valves. However, its flow resistance coefficient is slightly larger than that of the swing check valve.

Compression Check Valve: This valve is used as a valve for boiler feed water and steam shut-off. It integrates the functions of a lift check valve, a globe valve, or an angle valve.
