Valve installation is easy to appear 6 big mistakes

With the rapid development of technology and innovation, the valuable information that should be delivered to industry professionals is often obscured today. Although customers will also use some shortcuts or quick methods to understand the valve installation, the information is sometimes less comprehensive. To address customer questions, here are 10 common, easily overlooked installation errors:
1. The bolt is too long.

Bolts on the valve, only one or two threads over the nut can be used. Can reduce the risk of damage or corrosion. Why buy a longer bolt than you need? Usually, the bolts are too long because someone doesn’t have time to calculate the correct length, or individuals simply don’t care what the end result looks like. This is a lazy project.

2. The control valve is not isolated separately.

Although the isolation valve takes up valuable space, it is important that personnel can be allowed to work on the valve when maintenance is required. If the space is limited, if the gate valve is considered too long, at least install the butterfly valve, it hardly takes up any space. Always remember that for having to stand on it for maintenance and operations, using them is easier to work and more effectively for maintenance tasks.

3. The installation space is too small.

If installing a valve station is cumbersome and may involve digging concrete, do not try to save that cost by making it as little space as possible. Basic maintenance later on will be very difficult. Also remember: the tool can be long, so space must be reserved so that the bolts can be released. Also need some space, which allows you to add devices later.

4. Later disassembly is not considered

Most of the time, the installers understand that you can’t connect everything together in a concrete room. If all the parts are tightly tightened without gaps, it is almost impossible to separate them. Whether the groove coupling, flange joint or pipe joint, are necessary. In the future, it may sometimes need to remove the parts, and while this is usually not a concern of the installation contractor, it should be the concern of the owner and the engineer.

5. Air is not excluded.

When the pressure drops, the air is discharged from the suspension and transferred to the pipe, which will cause problems downstream of the valve. A simple vent valve will get rid of any air that may exist and will prevent downstream problems. The vent valve upstream of the control valve is also effective because the air in the guide line may cause instability. So why not remove the air before it reaches the valve?

6. Spare tap.

This can be a minor problem, but spare splits are always helpful in the chambers upstream and downstream of the control valves. This setup provides convenience for future maintenance, whether connecting the hose, adding remote sensing for the control valve or adding a pressure transmitter for SCADA. For the small cost of adding accessories in the design stage, it significantly increases the availability in the future. Makes the maintenance task more difficult because everything is covered with paint and therefore the nameplates cannot be read or adjusted.
