Taboo 12
The specifications and models of the installed valve do not meet the design requirements.
For example, the nominal pressure of the valve is less than the system test pressure; the gate valve for the feed water branch pipe when the pipe diameter is less than or equal to 50mm; the dry and risers for hot water heating; and the fire pump suction pipe adopts butterfly valve.
Consequences: affect the normal opening and closing of the valve and adjust the resistance, pressure and other functions. Even cause the system operation, the valve damage is forced to repair.
Measures: Be familiar with the application scope of various valves, and select the specifications and models of valves according to the design requirements. The nominal pressure of the valve shall meet the requirements of the system test pressure. According to the construction code: stop valve shall be used when the pipe diameter is less than or equal to 50mm; gate valve shall be used when the pipe diameter is greater than 50mm. Hot water heating dry, vertical control valve should be used gate valve, fire water pump suction pipe should not use butterfly valve.
Taboo 13
The main materials, equipment and products used in construction lack technical quality appraisal documents or product certificates that meet the current national or ministerial standards.
Consequences: unqualified project quality, potential accidents, cannot be delivered on time, must be reworked and repaired; resulting in construction delay and increase of labor and material input.
Measures: Main materials, equipment and products used in water supply and heating projects shall have technical quality appraisal documents or product certificates conforming to the current standards issued by the state or the Ministry; meanwhile, product name, model, specification, national quality standard code, delivery date, manufacturer name and location, inspection certificate or code shall be indicated.

Valve inverted
Consequences: check valve, throttle valve, pressure reducing valve, check valve and other valves have directionality, if installed inverted, the throttle valve will affect the service effect and life; pressure reducing valve does not work at all, the check valve will even cause danger.
Measures: general valve, with direction sign on the valve body; in case not, should be correctly identified according to the working principle of the valve. The valve cavity of the stop valve is asymmetric, the fluid should let it pass through the valve mouth from the bottom to the top, so that the fluid resistance is small (determined by the shape), open labor saving (due to the medium pressure up), close the medium does not pressure the packing, easy maintenance. This is why the stop valve can not be settled.

The valve does not do heat insulation and cooling measures
Measures: some valves must also have external protection facilities, this is thermal insulation and cold protection. Thermal insulation steam pipeline is sometimes added to the insulation layer. What kind of valve should be insulated or cold, according to the production requirements. In principle, where the medium in the valve reduces the temperature too much, will affect the production efficiency or freeze the valve, it need insulation, even heat tracing; where the valve exposed, adverse to production or cause frost and other adverse phenomena, it is necessary to keep cold. Thermal insulation materials include asbestos, slag cotton, glass wool, perlite, diatom soil, vermiculite; cold protection materials include cork, perlite, foam, plastic, etc.

The drain valve is not installed by bypass
Measures: some valves, in addition to the necessary protection facilities, but also have a bypass and instrument. The bypass is installed to facilitate the maintenance of the water trap. Other valves, also have installed bypass. Whether to install bypass depends on the condition of the valve, importance and production requirements.
Taboo 17
The filler was not changed regularly
Measures: inventory valve, some filler is not good, some do not consistent with the use of media, which needs to replace the filler.
The valve faces thousands of kinds of different media, and the filling letter is always filled with ordinary plate roots, but when used, the packing must be adapted to the medium.
When changing the filler, press it in round and round. Each lap joint is 45 degrees, and the ring and ring joint are 180 degrees. The height of the packing should consider the room for the continued press of the lid, and at present, the lower part of the lid should have the appropriate depth, which can generally be 10-20% of the total depth of the packing chamber.
